Her clinical position involves generic and neurodevelopmental assessments and reviews of children and adolescents suffering with several conditions (including ADHD, tics, autism, anxiety and mood disorders).


Her research position is focused on early detection and treatment of major mental illnesses in order to guarantee the best long-term outcome to young people (teenagers and young adults) who suffer from a broad variety of mental health issues.

Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist


Giulia Spada is a medical doctor with over 10 years of clinical and academic experience in the field of Child and Adolescent Neuropsychiatry from a variety of both inpatient and outpatient clinics, working as a consultant since 2012. She specialised in Child and Adolescent Neuropsychiatry in 2012 at the University of Pavia, Italy.


In addition to her work within our practice, Dr Spada is also a consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist for the Lewisham (CAMHS) at the South London and Maudsley (SLaM) NHS Foundation Trust and a clinical researcher for King’s College of London.


Her main interests are neurodevelopmental conditions with a focus on early diagnosis and intervention.  She has a strong both clinical and pharmacological background in


Dr Spada strongly believes that early diagnosis and intervention, including regular clinical monitoring and psychotherapy, help ensure the best long-term outcome for patients and their families, reduce anxiety and address interpersonal, educational and professional difficulties.


With this motivation Dr Spada in February 2018 completed a PhD in Biomedical Sciences in early identification and treatment of children and adolescents with at-risk mental state at the University of Pavia, starting a collaboration with the internationally renowned Psychosis Studies Department at King’s College of London.


She was a lecturer of Child and Adolescent Neuropsychiatry for the master in Music Therapy of the University of Pavia from 2014 to 2016.


Dr Spada has presented her work at national and international conferences (oral and poster presentations) and published four scientific papers in peer reviewed journals including European Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and European Psychiatry and she contributed to the third edition of the textbook “Child psychology and psychiatry: frameworks for clinical and training and practice. Wiley Blackwell”.
